E1 – Recruitment Event

Aalto University Campus, 17th-18th March 2025
The recruitment event of PSST featured Plenary sessions, Poster sessions, and Interviews with the 17 PhD candidates that were shortlisted.
The event started with an introduction to the project, including the state of the art, and the structure into three distinct teams.
We were honored by the presence of two Plenary Speakers:
Speaker: prof. Joe Cannataci, UN Special Rapporteur, University of Malta
Title: “Conceptual contextualisation for Smart Speech Technologies: Fallacies and Facts about Privacy”
Speaker: Dr. Catherine Jasserand-Breeman, KU Leuven
Title: “Smart Speech Technologies: Data Scraping for Training AI Models and the Law“
