- I am studying at University X. Does the mobility rule prevent me from applying?
The mobility rule applies to the university where the doctoral researcher would be first hired. In the list of projects, this is the first university appearing in the Host-field for a particular project. For example, if you are currently studying at Aalto, you cannot be hired for projects 1, 8 or 11. However, you can be hired for any of the other projects, including projects 3, 4 and 9, where Aalto is the second university. - Can the individual projects be changed (ordering of hosts, schedule, topic)?
In general, no. The only thing with some flexibility is the research topics of projects, where we can make minor modifications according to personal preferences. Such changes have to be jointly agreed upon by all project supervisors and in line with the goals of the team and the overall project.
The ordering of hosts has been carefully planned for balance between and within partners and to maximize opportunities for collaboration. - Is the starting date of hiring fixed?
No. Hiring process delays vary widely between universities, and applicants may have prior commitments, so it is unrealistic that all would be hired at the same time. We hope to start as close to August 2025 as possible, but we can easily accommodate differences of a month or two.
